Find what your vendors overbilled you

Upload a vendor contract and up to 3 of its invoices. Lexly checks every line against the contract and shows each overcharge with the clause, the invoice line and the math. Free, and your files are never stored.

Check one vendor's invoices against its contract

PDFs only, up to 2 MB each. Don't have a pair to hand? Run the sample: a fictional supply agreement and three of its invoices.

Vendor contract (PDF)

Invoices from that vendor (PDF, up to 3)

What it checks

Five ways money leaks between a signed contract and a paid invoice. The first four examples are real findings from the sample documents.

  • Prices above the contract rate

Every invoice line is matched to the contract price list, by SKU or by description.

Contract $0.08 per label, billed $0.09 on 20,000 labels: $200.00

  • Increases above the agreed cap

If the contract caps annual increases, we work out the highest price allowed and compare.

    Cap 3% on $1.10 allows $1.133, billed $1.18 on 15,000 boxes: $705.00

  • Fees the contract rules out

Fuel surcharges, handling and admin fees that the contract says can't be charged.

“No fuel surcharges” in §4, billed a $185.00 fuel surcharge: $185.00

  • Duplicate invoices

The same date, lines and total under a second invoice number, flagged for you to check.

INV-20417A matches INV-20417 line for line: $15,185.00 at risk

  • Math errors on the invoice

Quantity times unit price that doesn't equal the line amount, and totals that don't add up.

    12,000 × $1.10 should be $13,200.00, not $13,800.00

How it works

AI reads the documents but never decides an amount. Every number has to appear in your files, so the same documents always give the same result.

  1. Read the contract

We read the contract and pull out every price, cap, discount and fee rule, with the exact words.

  2. Match each invoice line

We read each invoice line and match it to the contract price.

  3. Do the math in code

Plain code does the arithmetic. Every finding shows the clause, the invoice line and the calculation.

Want this across all your vendors?

  • We help you send the first claims to your vendors

We reply within one business day. We'll send an NDA before you share anything.

Questions

Do you store my files?
No. Files are read to produce the result and then discarded. Nothing is saved to our database or storage. They're processed by our OCR and AI providers to read the text.
What files work best?
A PDF of the contract with a price list or rate schedule, and PDF invoices from the same vendor. Files exported from a billing system or a word processor work best; a photo or a scan of a printout may not be readable. Each file can be up to 2 MB, and 4 MB in total.
How accurate is it?
Every number we use has to appear in the document's own text, and plain code does the math. Findings marked “Check manually” need a person to look, for example a possible duplicate that may already have been credited.
What does the full audit cost?
Nothing up front. The full audit is paid on contingency: 25% of the money you recover from vendors, and nothing if we find nothing.
How is this different from three-way matching?
Three-way matching checks that an invoice agrees with the purchase order and the goods receipt. It doesn't check the price against the contract, so a rate above the agreed price, an increase above the cap or a fee the contract rules out gets paid whenever the PO matches. Lexly reads the contract itself and checks every invoice line against its terms.
Which vendors are worth auditing?
Vendors whose contracts set prices that change or add up: price lists and rate cards, annual increase caps, volume tiers, surcharges and fees. Freight carriers, packaging and material suppliers, staffing agencies, telecom providers and software renewals are common sources of overbilling. Fixed monthly subscriptions rarely are.
Is this legal or accounting advice?
No. It's an automated check that gives you evidence to review and take to the vendor.
Why only 3 invoices here?
The free tool is a quick check on one vendor. A full audit covers all your vendors and a year of invoices, under NDA.

Automated check. Findings are estimates for review, not legal or accounting advice.
